Although I think Dr. Hennigan is a good doctor, he runs behind on all of his appointments. I have waited over an hour to be called back and then another hour once I am back in the patient room. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day your appointment is booked. Even if you book early in the morning, they are always running late. They also charge you extra for everything that you need. If you need one of your regular prescriptions called in, they charge you for it. I've even had an unsolicited phone call before and they billed my insurance for it as a consultation. The thing that I am most upset about is, I recently received a letter from his practice that he was closing his practice and they only gave a 12 day notice - to find another doctor within 12 days is not enough time!

The people in Decatur are lucky to have Dr. Hennigan. He is my wife's & mine physician & we couldn't be happier. My wife was very sick this summer & another doctor sent her to Baptist hospital in Birmingham. She stayed 11 days & they sent her home not knowing more than when we got there. We asked them (approx. 10 different doctors) to talk to Dr. Hennigan & none of them did. After $100,000. later we went back to Dr. Hennigan & now the problem is corrected. We know what he's done for us & feel like he's one of the best not just in Decatur but in Alabama. I need back surgery & all I needed was a recommendation from Dr. Hennigan for the right Doctor to fix my back with no worries. He made all arrangements etc for me.
