I was completely at ease during my appointment here. They went to great lengths to make sure I was completely relaxed and comfortable the entire time. They explained all the risks and benefits of my treatment options. Everything was explained in detail, all my questions were answered, and I felt a lot better about choosing a treatment plan. They were one of the kindest, most caring staff I've ever dealt with. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern, they were always happy to help me. I didn't wait long at all. My appointment started on time, and the wait was much shorter than other offices I have been to.

The office never inputted my appointment and then told me I'd have to wait. After being there for over 1 hour and 30 minutes I couldn't stay longer due to another commitment. We gave a urine sample. I made a new appointment which in her NJ office, she only has Thursday afternoons available. After a couple of days and not hearing from the office in regard to the urine specimen, I called for the results. They called me back and informed me that the lab said there wasn't enough specimen???? huh?? We left a full jar. So, either the lab mixed it up or the office didn't even bother to send it because we had to leave before our appt with the doctor due to her lateness. I took my daughter to our regular pediatrician as it was suspect she might have another uti. Sure enough she did. Our next appt was 2 wks later due to the doctor taking off for her holidays. Arrived at 12:45 for a 1:00pm appt to only find out that the doctor just left Manhattan and would probably arrive at 1:30. Mind you the office told me we were the first appt only to find out there were 2 other appts before us. Went to lunch, came back at 1:35 only to find out she didn't arrive. When it was 2:10 and she still wasnt' there, I asked if she called in as it takes about 40 minutes from Manhattan to Hackensack. They hadn't heard from her. I asked if this was normal procedure and was informed that unfortunately, yes, she was always late. 15 - 30 minutes is late. 2 hours is unexcusable especially when it is routine. Total lack of respect for her patients and I wouldn't want someone like this treating my daughter as this is a reflection of the individual in all aspects of her life. Made an appointment with the www.pedsurology.com. They have 5 offices and hopefully they wont be as disappointing as this woman. I think they know what they are doing since when I made the appt they right away told me that they were sending me a prescription for an ultrasound and to bring that at our first appt.
Thumbs down on Ellen Shapiro!! Horrible experience.
