Dr. Marchand and his staff were very helpful and nice. I was a little disappointed that it took several weeks (instead of the 3 I was told) for my orthopedic shoe inserts to come in. But I'm not sure that has anything to do with the doctor himself. I would recommend him, very personable and as I said before, he has a helpful and nice staff.

Dr. Marchand had a friendly demeanor. This is why he got one star.

I came to Auburn Podiatry with pain in my right foot. As I explained the excruciating pain that has been off and on due to Plantar Fasciitis for nearly a year... he began cutting my recently cut toenails as he listened.

HE CUT THREE OF MY TOES!! I left the office with a prescription for Prednisone. Prednisone is a hormonal psychosis drug that left me frazzled and still in pain.

Why, I ask myself, I returned after my first experience I don't know.. but the Plantar Fascia pain was worse than the three toes he cut and the office is convenient. I asked upon seeing him that he NOT CUT my nails. I explained the problem there and he said he'd try a cortisone shot next. I had read about cortisone shots breaking down the heal pad of the foot and causing more damage than good in most cases. I refused this option.

I had read about a drug by the name of Verapamil used topically as a channel blocker to break down the fibroma (painful lump on plantar of foot) Dr. Marchand agreed to prescribe.

When I got to the pharmacy, the pharmacist explained that Dr. Marchand had CANCELLED the prescription due to cost!! He didn't understand the amount of pain this causes or he would have discussed this with me and understood I would have PAID ANYTHING for relief!!

I went home and read more about Verapamil and found that Amlodipine is interchangeable! I take Amlodipine for high blood pressure (which he also didn't help with frustration rising...LOL) So, I took a few Amlodipine and crushed them and mixed with the Penetrex cream I was using with massage on the plantar morning and night. For a few weeks I've been using this solution and LOW AND BEHOLD after a YEAR of pain.. I can garden!!! I can stand for an hour and if I shop I'm not in excruciating pain that night.

No thanks to Dr. Marchand... I would not recommend this doctor due to his cutting THREE of my toes!! He blamed the shape of my toenails. Honey, I told him...I've had Asian women in nail salons cutting my toenails during pedicures for YEARS and NOT ONCE have they cut ONE of my toes! While he managed to cut THREE and blame it on ME!
