I have been going to this practice for many years (since I was in college), and brought my family to them as well. We have always been well cared for. However, in their effort to make money, their practice has provided a new-found level of disservice to patients.

My son recently lost his glasses. He is in college out of state, so appointment scheduling can be tricky. Insurance will only pay for exams every two years. Their prescriptions, however, are only good for ONE year. While I completely understand the medical justification for this, it is clear that it is calculated to prevent patients from ordering contacts online at a more affordable cost or getting replacement glasses off-site. It is a business practice that is not affordable to many of us whose insurance will only cover exams and glasses biannually.

Yes, he is overdue for an exam. He has had NO problems with his eye glass prescription or his contacts and is a young, healthy adult with pretty stable vision. This practice will not extend his prescription so that he can get ONE replacement pair of glasses to hold him over until we can get him home over spring break for an exam. How long are we supposed to wait for an appointment for an exam to replace these glasses? Weeks? Months? Seriously?! Exactly what do they expect him to do at school in the meantime?!

You have lost a very faithful long term client and family. While medically I know you are superior, the mall apparently can better meet our needs. Your inflexibility on this is not serving your patients well, and is indicative of a systematic problem in your practice.

They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. Their staff is very friendly and professional. I trust in the care they provide.
