The staff is the worst ever. My husband had a very painful hand. It took a month to get in to see Dr. Binzer, then he ordered an MRI, then it took six weeks to get in to get the results - arthritis. Meanwhile, I decided I would see him about my swollen knees. I got in quick and without even examining me he decided to do "stem cell" injections, which he promised was covered by my insurance. I found out later it is not FDA approved and not a proven procedure. I was scheduled for 7/20/18. I had called twice before to see if the insurance had approved it yet, but kept getting brushed aside. Only one person handled that and she was in clinic. So, since my husband had his great MRI reveal on 7/16 I decided to ask her in person if the insurance had pre-approved my procedure. There was a big fuss at first saying all the stem cell injections were canceled because the surgery center didn't make enough money, but they decided that mine was still on and I would be the LAST one. They PROMISED my insurance had already approved it and it was a go. He assured me that insurance paid because of something special he did, I think he was talking about billing codes maybe? Then, as we were leaving the receptionist told me I owed $40. I asked what for? For an office visit co-pay. I told her I was simply a by-stander with my husband for his appointment. She said it was because I had asked the doctor questions. This infuriated me and I stopped the doctor and got into it with him. He said I had taken up his precious time with my questions (we sat in the waiting room over an hour.) I said I wouldn't pay and I was cancelling. Fine! he said. Today I called my insurance company to see if they had approved this procedure. They had never received a request for anything! Then, checking the Texas Medical Board's website I discovered this: Action Date: 04/08/2011
Description: ON APRIL 8, 2011, THE BOARD ENTERED A CORRECTIVE ORDER REGARDING THOMAS C. BINZER, M.D., REQUIRING DR. BINZER TO COMPLETE WITHIN ONE YEAR EIGHT HOURS OF CME IN RISK MANAGEMENT AND PAY AN ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTY OF $2,000 WITHIN 90 DAYS. THE BOARD FOUND DR. BINZER FAILED TO USE DILIGENCE IN HIS PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE WHEN HE PERFORMED FINGER SURGERY FOR ONE PATIENT ON THE WRONG FINGER. DR. BINZER DOES NOT ADMIT TO OR DENY THE FINDINGS, BUT AGREED TO THE CORRECTIVE ORDER TO AVOID THE COST AND UNCERTAINTY OF LITIGATION.
The moral of the story is: do your research first and watch out for Quacks.

Called this office, which was referred to my by an Urgent Care clinic, to schedule an appointment for my daughter. She injured her knee playing basketball and while an x-ray showed no fracture, the Urgent Care physician felt she needed an MRI. I called this office on Monday morning and received Voice Mail during normal office hours. I left a message and waited for a return call. After lunch I called again and this time talked to a receptionist. I requested an appt. for my daughter and was told it would be at a minimum 2 weeks from that date. I explained her injury and said that another physician referred us and felt she needed an MRI. Receptionist curtly said she'd check with a nurse and see what they could do. I NEVER heard from this office again.

Horrible customer service! I took it upon myself to call other physicians in the area and give great thanks to Dr. Ricky Ford. Wonderful staff, compassionate doctor, clean and comfortable environment.

All in all I thank Dr. Binzer's team for being neglectful and uncaring, without their shoddy behavior I would have never found Dr. Ford.
