My dentist referred me to Lawrence Becker in late June 2010 when I needed to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Since this was the time I had to have oral surgery, minor as it was, I didn't quite know what to expect beforehand. I'm happy to say everything went delightfully smoothly. Having had the choice between general anesthesia (patient made unconscious during procedure) or local anesthesia (patient remains awake), I opted for the latter because I don't have dental insurance and it was more affordable. Dr. Becker, using Novocain to numb my mouth, performed the procedure in a matter of minutes with the help of one his assistants named Kathleen, and I felt absolutely no pain! Shortly thereafter, Dr. Becker advised me what to expect in the following 2-3 days and prescribed Vicodin for the anticipated post-op pain, but the pain never came close to reaching the point where I needed it. I took Tylenol once or twice - that's it. In summary, a quick, pain-free experience by someone who's not only a highly skilled oral surgeon, but a nice man. Thumbs up! -James Escher, Hempstead, NY
