Had appointment for 3:15 Tuesday, Arrived at 3:05, the receptionist informed me that the doctor was approximately 1 hour behind and that 2 other people have already rescheduled because of that, I said I would wait, went into the room at approx 3:45 , the nurse explained to me about the sample cups, and to get undressed from the waist down, and to put this piece of paper over me "for the illusion of privacy" and then told me that the tray by the door was sterilized and not to touch it, it had a thin sheet of paper covering the tray, and when she left and closed the door, the paper blew off and landed on the desk next to it, I am sore NOT sterilized, then when she came back in, I said I didn’t take the paper off, it blew off, she said that happens a lot, and picked up the paper and set it back on the sterilized instruments, NOW NOT Sterilized, then the Dr came in, and the first thing out of his mouth was asking me if I payed for this out of pocket, or if Insurance paid for it, and I said it was out of pocket, then he even asked me how much I had to pay for it, what it cost me. I told him approx. 950.00 , he acted very surprised, and then said this only takes 7 minutes, it’s that fast, so, he undraped me, arranged some damp towels around me, and pulled on my scrotum, to find the vas tube I assume, then he picked up the needle for the shot to numb me, and said there will be a slight pinch, and stuck me with the shot, just ONE shot, and as SOON as he set the syringe on the table, picked up the scalpel and said there will be a dull pain now, and immediately cut me before the pain killer even had a chance to act, ( from videos I watched after the fact, they are supposed to inject several times and let it get numb before cutting etc) but no, it was immediately cut, and incredibly painful, then he pulled out the tube and that in itself was some of the most pain I have ever felt in my life, and he again said, dull pain, but it felt like someone stuck a screwdriver right into my testicle and twisted it, INCREDIBLE pain, almost dull like a hammer in the testicles, the he finished up the left side, and said onto the right and usually the opposite side is more painful because you know what to expect, well, it was, once again, a shot, and as soon as the needle hit the tray , he took the scalpel to me, no lag time whatsoever, and the pain was almost twice as bad as the first side, I felt the cut as if there was no shot of any kind, even a dentist shoots you with novacane and allows 5 minutes or so to react, but this was done, (both sides) in approx.. 7 minutes, I was screaming in pain, and yelling because it hurt so bad, and almost threw up because of the pain, I was watching his hands moving down there, as I couldn’t actually see what he did, because of how I was laying, I watched him finish, then I believe I passed out, because the next thing I remember was him wiping my forehead and face off saying don’t worry a lot of people pass out, its ok. Then, He took two separate pieces of gauze and squeezed it over the incisions, and told me to take each hand and hold these tight for 10 minutes ( this was at approx 4:00 ) and that would help the bruising and bleeding, and after 10 minutes someone would come back in and tell me 10 minutes was up and I could leave, well, I laid there holding the gauze until 4:25, so 25 minutes, and still nobody came back in, so, I took off the gauze and laid all the bloody sheets etc. on the table, and got up, got dressed and walked out without anyone saying a word to me. This was by far the, worst experience I have EVER gone through in my life. I was instructed to not walk, or do anything for at least 2 days, and use ice packs, etc, and wear a jock strap for at least one week, as I did, for actually 9 days, and laid down for the first 3 days, then just relaxed and rested until the following Monday when I went back to work, and the after pain was terrible, to the point I was having nightmares about the surgery and all that happened. I still cannot get it out of my mind.
