Dr. Roberts is on staff at Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Coronado Hospital, and Scripps Mercy Hospital. He is one of the busiest Urologic surgeons at these hospitals with expertise in benign and malignant diseases of the prostate, as well as endourology and urologic trauma and reconstruction. He is one of the few surgeons in San Diego trained in the Da Vinci Robot for laparoscopy and performs these procedures at Sharp Memorial Hospital. He is an active member in numerous societies including the American Urological Association and the Society of Government Service Urologists.

Dr. Roberts has been in private practice since retiring in 2004 as Chairman, Department of Urology, Naval Medical Center San Diego. He was raised at the New Jersey Shore and graduated from Brown University and George Washington School of Medicine. In 1984, he arrived in San Diego, where he completed his urology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He spent the next five years as Urology Department Head, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, with a year in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War at a Navy trauma hospital. In 1997, he became Chairman of the Department of Urology, Naval Medical Center San Diego, where he was one of the leaders in military Urology. He retired from the Navy Medical Corp in 2004 at the rank of Captain, after 20 years devoted to improving military urologic patient care, medical education, and surgical outcomes.Dr. Roberts is on staff at Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Coronado Hospital, and Scripps Mercy Hospital. He is one of the busiest Urologic surgeons at these hospitals with expertise in benign and malignant diseases of the prostate, as well as endourology and urologic trauma and reconstruction.
