The receptionist (which is the doctor's wife), made some errors in my Mother's secondary insurance which would have required that my Mother pay for services when in fact the secondary insurance would have covered the procedure. I tried to explain this to the receptionist . She did not care and really didn't want to correct the problem. As far as she was concerned they would just bill me, due to their error. I spoke to the billing department and was told that the receptionist did not give them the required social security number so that the claim could be processed.
I went over all of this with the receptionist, she didn't care.
Think about this. It is not ethical to falsely omit info to the insurance company and cause the patient unnecessary costs and problems
