I have been with Discovery Pediatrics for 15 years and Dr. Cohen is my 15 yr. old's doctor. He is excellent. I have also over the years seen all the other doctors and they all are very thorough. Dr Maddox has the patience of Job and is very helpful in explaining things so you can understand.

We recently moved to the area and Discovery Pediatrics was recommended to us. I made an appointment at the end of August for well visits fro my two children. The earliest appointment they could give me was with Dr. Cohen on Oct. 2. On Sept. 30 I got a call from the receptionist that Dr. Cohen had to have surgery and was out this week. Moreover, they would have to reschedule my childrens well-vists for NOVEMBER! Both my children are in school/daycare. They need to get their vaccinations updated for their own safety as well as for compliance with state law. And both of them currently have coughs/runny noses which I was counting on seeing the doctor about. No amount of begging/reasoning/arguing could convince the receptionist (I don't know her name) to schedule my kids in earlier. I offered that they would only be seen for a sick visit (for their coughs/runny noses) and not for the more time-consuming well-visit and she refused point-blank. Then I was rudely transferred to another woman, Yolonda King who was even more rude and inconsiderate. So now I am in a situation where I have two sick kids and no doctor. What happened to basic courtesy? What happened to a doctor's commitment to helping a child, even if it means seeing him before his "official" well-visit. I am utterly disgusted by this practice and their lack of empathy/morals and am now in the process of finding another pediatrician for my children.
