It was discovered through a CT scan 5-6 years later that during a routine procedure Dr. Hasbargen did on me to insert a catheter, he left the metal guide wire in my groin. It now sits extending from my external iliac to my inferior vena cava. I was told by a vascular surgeon that the procedure to remove it would be too risky due to it's placement. I'm only 25 and will now have to worry about the possibility of blood clot, infection, or embolism any time in the future due to this.
