I was very happy with Dr. Carlson until this last year. She canceled/rescheduled my appointment on three occasions. When I got the call about the second one I asked why, I was told she would be delivering a baby. Fair enough. The third time I was quite annoyed. I asked again and was told that she has been dealing with person issues and her hours were cut back. Really??? So, again, I made yet another appointment, mind you this has been going on since December. So I go for my scheduled appointment, relieved that I didn't get a call to reschedule again. I go to the office and the clerk/assistant, who ever she was told me I didn't have an appointment. I was pissed to say the least. I asked if it was scheduled for a later time that day or a later date? No, we don't have you listed at all, only the cancellations. I told her those were cancellations that the office made due to her "issues" and cutting back hours. I said I had been trying to get in since December. Now my appointment isn't until June!!!! I have some female issues going on that I really needed to see her about. Do you think that the clerk, who was quite rude and unapologetic, but made excuses, didn't have Dr. Carlson call me later in the day. NOPE!!!! Only offered me a appointment card after I had already written down. They obviously needed the reminder card. I came home to look at the calendar to see that yes, I did have an appointment for that day, I was just an hour early. Thanks Dr. Carlson, was to make your patients feel like I am just a number and you don't need my business.

From the very beginning I should have known that I was just a number to her as she only spent the minimum required time with me on regular office visits. However, after I got pregnant and needed to be seen more often, the experience just got worse. Not only did their office not give me test results until I called (3 days after they had already received them), Dr. Carlson actually lectured me for calling. Also, my husband pointed out that she never even would acknowledge him when he was in the room with me. This is just a very small example of my experience with her.

In my opinion, if you want to be a number (as she mentioned to me,she has over 2000 patients) then go to her. If you want a personal touch from the person that will be delivering your baby, do not go to her. Suffice to say, I am in the middle of my pregnancy and I have changed doctors.
