I saw this OB-GYN some years ago, when I lived in Taos. I had pre-cancerous cervical cell growth and needed a laser ablation. I chose her name from the phone book. Dr. Wolfswinkel is cold, brusk and seems passive-aggressive. Prior to my treatment, I was in the vulnerable position: prone and legs in stirrups. She made several injections of a numbing agent into my cervix. As I bit my tongue to endure the discomfort, she increased the force of the injections. When, on the final STAB, I nearly shot through the wall behind my head (the pain was shocking), she smiled. Following the laser ablation, her recommendations were, "For 1 month, no tampons, no douching, no lover-boy (and tossed her head toward my fiance), or Whatever you like to stick up there." I was too weak and drained to respond. On my followup visit, I gently shared how surprised and disturbed I was by her words (thinking it important to inform her of patient reactions to her style). Her response? "YOU Know what I Meant!" I would never recommend Laura Wolswinkel, MD
