I saw Dr. Gill at at practice I have been going to for my obgyn needs for 25 years. I left my first and last apt with her upset, annoyed and actually angry. I am a 39 yo college educated single professional with no children. From the very beginning she spoke at/to me not with me. She did not listen to me, made assumptions, cut me off and was just generally condescending. While giving me an exam she scolded me for drinking socially that I would cause fetal damage if i got pregnant. I am not pregnant. After she suggested I get and IUD for my rather awful PMS, I expressed that I did not want an IUD and from that point she basically disregarded me. She roughly lifted my shoulder for the breast exam after I just told her I was getting shoulder surgery on that side and then her breast exam was not at all thorough. The list goes on. By the end it was just awful i wanted to ask her to leave. She was more interested on know who my surgeon was and making it know that she knew them. After making my concerns known to other staff that day, I was told that this was not the first time they had heard this. I do not know know if she made a judgement from my history or just generally had a bad day or just has bad bedside manner. In ANY case this was just unacceptable and i cannot begin to imagine how she might treat other people or my own self as a young adult dealing with sensitive issues as it pertains to gynecological health and awareness. I am filing a formal complaint and speaking out wherever I can about my experiences. Thank you for reading.
