This was my 2nd visit with this doctors office. It was my 1st visit with Dr. Buchanan and to put it mildly I will never see her again. She is the worst doctor I have ever seen period. 10 minutes after I got home I called my insurance to change doctors. She was disconcerned with anything I had to say, told me the opposite of what her staff had to say and was just rude and not concerned with my pain and discomfort. As per her opinion my torn rib cartilage is not a big deal and I should take 12 ibuprofen a day and change my daily life style to stuff that Doesn't hurt me. For my job I work as a caregiver and can't just stop doing anything that hurts, I'm mean let's try and be realistic here, and in regards to the blood they found In my urine she said "O that's not a big deal, I'm not concerned with that." To my knowledge torn rib cartilage does not produce blood to be in my urine. I'm sorry but can we do some further testing, manage my pain or at least listen and be concerned with the state that I'm in. I'm 38 years old I have not had any pain meds prescribed to me in over a decade, ( look at my records Doc ) so no I'm not a drug seeker, but that is exactly the way she made me feel. Per her saying "I don't want you taking Oxy for 3-4 months cause then we will have another problem." Really that's what you say to your brand new patient that you just met less then 5 minutes ago. So I guess to her quitting my job, taking loads of ibuprofen and drinking alcohol to manage my pain, and From What I Still Don't Know, is better then actually dealing with and spending time with your patient is. Of corse this is not realistic for me to do nor do I want to, so my option is to be in pain, not know what's wrong with me and just find a real doctor that will at least pretend to listen and care about there patient. Is that not what they are there for. Please find a better doc for you and your family, although the rest of the staff that I interacted with were Great that alone is just not good enough. I am Very disappointed with the way I was treated and No one should ever be treated that way especially by there doctor...
