The office manager at this office is VERY entitled to her opinion. She goes above and beyond what her role at the office is and interferes with Dr/Patient relationship. To the point that when asked about it, she invents situations and scenarios that never occurred and charts them in your notes in the computer that the Dr does not see. I am a kind and gentle type of individual that loathes confrontation let alone the type to allow a physical aspect taking part in her “scenario”. So now, I won’t be back and Dr. Khan will never know why. His office manager isn’t allowing me back. Such a shame to loose such a wonderful Dr over a petty receptionist. She seems gruff/and or angry at all times. As if asking a question about insurance is above her pay grade so don’t ask these types of questions either or you may find yourself in my shoes. I suggest your contact with her be kept to a strict minimum as losing such a great Dr. such as Dr. Khan would be a shame.

To whom it may concern:
My name is Sharla Andrews. I am a 27 year old female. I am not sure who to come to about this, but had to contact someone, for I am so frustrated and very upset with the situation. I started seeing Dr. Moid Kahn in September of 2012 for almost all my hair was gone and I finally got health insurance to find out why. I was provided Family Health Plus through the state. On my first appointment the receptionist never remembered to mark me down. After a couple times of being there and finding out test results the doctor was writing in a folder that said Sharla Williams. I informed the doctor that my name is not Williams that it is Andrews. He apologized went to speak to his receptionist then came back in and asked if that was a maiden name or a married name. I informed the doctor that my last name is Andrews, that I am single and my last name has always been Andrews. My appointments with him was monthly and when I went to see him the next month to find out the results of the tests I took a week and a half prior the receptionist informed me the results were not in yet. I went to our local hospital that the tests were done at, Samaritan Medical in Watertown, Ny and spoke to the lab technician asking how long it takes for the results from the tests I took. She stated the results are in and that my doctor should have got them and to inform my doctor that its also displayed on some kind of medical network, doctors in the area setup with the hospital. I drove back to my doctors office that day and informed the receptionist of what the lab technician told me. She went in the back and stated that it must have gotten lost but she has recovered it now. The doctor then informed me I have Poly-cystic Ovary Syndrome and Diabetes 2 and high cholesterol. I also informed the doctor that I have been suffering from bad migraines for quite some time. He prescribed me Metformin for my diabetes and said that it would help with PCOS. He says that even though my prescription says 500mg two times a day to only take one. Then he handed me several small white containers of a drug called Bystolic. It was 10 mg and he instructed me to take once a day. They were sample bottles. He said that would help with my migraines. I started taking the medicine and soon after was constantly light headed or dizzy to where it was making me sick. I assumed the Bystolic was making me sick and without consulting with him first I stopped taking the medicine, No where on the sample bottle did it have any warning to not stop taking and my doctor did not warn me what would happen if I stopped taking this drug. Days after my heart was beating extremely fast it felt like it was gonna explode out of my chest. At 4 am I went to the emergency room for the way I was feeling but at the time didn't realize it was the Bystolic that was causing this so when the ER nurse asked for all the medicines I take I said metformin and vitamin d. They examined me and said I had an irregular heartbeat and to see my doctor as soon as it opens. When I got home from the hospital I started looking up my medicines to see if it could be a side effect, my mother reminded me of the bystolic i was takiing a week ago and when I looked it up that is when I realized what was going on. I called my doctor's office at 9 am when they opened informed them of everything, crying because of the way I feel they said they could n't get me in untill 1 pm I informed them that the E.R doctor informed me to see them Asap and after literally begging to be seen she said she could fit me in at 10am. I got there crying so much pain and still was not seen until 11 am by the time I seen the doctor he checked my vitals and said I was in Hypertension and gave me a pill that i had to chew. He then lectured me for stop taking the medicine. He then said that the medicine was for my high blood pressure. I have never had high blood pressure before or history of it. That day was the first ever hearing of it. It was a very scary experience for me that I WILL NEVER want to go through again. I started taking all medicine regularly after that. I started to get very sick again from constantly being dizzy it was beginning to affect my job and how I care for my daughter. I couldn't sleep. So my next monthly appointment I went and seen my doctor and informed him of what the medicine is doing to me. he then prescribed generic form of Cozaar. Which is Losartan Potassium 50 mg that I have to take daily. Before I left the doctor's office I asked how do I stop the bystolic and how do I start up this new medicine. He stated to stop bystolic and the next day take the generic Cozaar. Still very afraid of the experience that I had I consulted with my pharmacist. She stated to not do it that way to wean myself of bystolic my cutting the medicine in halves for a couple days then take the new drug. I am now taking the generic form of Cozaar and Metformin and have been doing good. I recently applied for my daughter to health coverage for she lost the one that was under her father's. When I applied for insurance for her the state switched us both to Medicaid. On 4/26 I went to the pharmacy to get my refill for the blood pressure medicine filled. The pharmacist informed me I needed a pre auth from my doctor and that she faxed a form over to him. I had to got to work that day and only had 2 hours before I had to go to work. I called my doctors office to see if they received the fax. I am a very kind person, I dont like confrontation so I wasnt rude or anything. I asked the receptionist if she received the fax for the pre auth. She said,"Pre-auth, that means medicaid. We don't accept medicaid you have to find yourself a new doctor" and then she hung up the phone on me! I was so upset. I didn't know what to do. I needed that medicine, didn't have the money for the whole prescription, it was 60 dollars. I was scared, I didn't want to experience what happened to me the last time I didn't take the blood pressure medicine. I called the pharmacy and told them what had happened and even they were in disbelief. They were very kind to me and got me a 30 day supply for $8. Enough time for me to find another doctor. I am just can't believe the way my doctor's office treated me and didn't know if anything could be done or who to talk to on this issue! Thank you so much for your time!
