I found Dr Smith to be very unethical in her billing practices. She held on to my insurance claims and submited them all when my treatment was finished, leaving me with a bill of 500.00 for copayments. I repeatedly asked during my visits whether there were any costs of which I needed to be aware. I was repeatedly told that insurance would take care of it and that it would just take a while for the insurance claims to go through. I was not aware that the insurance claims had not even been submitted at that time. Apparently this practice of dealing with insurance companies allows the clinic to retain patients for longer treatments by leading them to believe that there are no out of pocket costs involved. After the treatment has been completed Dr. Smith relentlessly pursues her patients for any money the insurance did not pay, even though they were told beforehand that there would not be any out of pocket costs. I would not recommend Dr. Smith.
