I had seen a few counselors prior to Joan but none were a good fit with my personality or needs as much as Joan. The other counselors seemed to want to dwell on my past to help me but it only kept me in a state of depression. Joan helped me cover my past but always helped me form goals to the future. We used a lot of humor in our sessions too. My family noticed a huge positive difference in me after I started seeing Joan compared to my previous counselors. I haven't seen her in awhile but insurance did not cover our sessions and though her price was a little on the high side, over a 3 to 4 year period she never raised her prices. It's been several years since I've seen her so you may want to inquire about the insure policy now as I believe she has more certifications which may allow eligibility with insurance policies.
