Hands down the most skilled, compassionate and humorous Dentist I've ever had. My new husband had been seeing him for many years and encouraged me to become a patient of his. Both my husband's grown children had been his patients their whole lives.
I had become sick with some autoimmune disorder that even
U of M's specialists couldn't diagnose and was referred to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester. They had me there 3 different times, a week long of appointments each time. Dr. Harris knew the expense of plane fare, hotel rooms and meals for each week. He quietly put into my hand one day a generous amount of money to help us with the costs. I cried and was speechless at first. I attempted to decline the amazing gift but he was NOT going to take it back. It was hard for my husband and I, having worked as an RN (me) and he at Delphi/GM for over 30 years. But our bodies took a beating and we both had to give up our careers and go on disability, something I'd never dreamt could happen to me. Months later we'd saved enough money to repay him. I sent it to him, cash, in one of those 3-D, pop-up cards. In less than a week, he returned my money with a very stern note that it was a gift, not a loan. Wow......how many people have a dentist that not only handles cavities, root canals, crowns and implants, (all VERY successful I might add) but goes far beyond the call of duty?
Dr. Harris was more than just an outstanding, skilled, compassionate and positive dentist, he was a friend to my husband and myself. We moved to Grayling in 2005 and continued driving down to Saginaw for our dental appointments. He was the best and well worth the drive!! Then he finally retired and we lost touch with him and his wife. That's why we Googled him, to see how he was, if he was in Saginaw or up north.
