Doctor and his nurse treated me in condescending manner when they learned that I'm disabled. Nurse was extremely rude (never smiled, ignored my questions, made snarky comments when I spoke to my husband). I came in for my impressions after the doctor gave us an estimate for denture, sent me to a surgeon to pull my teeth out, and we took out a loan for this purpose. When we came to Doctor Brotherton ( I had most of my teeth pulled for him) he ignored my questions regarding the procedure, and his nurse was extremely rude. He started taking impressions of my upper teeth ad used a very large tray for my smaller jaw, and pushed it too deep into my throat, that caused me to start choking and throwing up. I couldn't control it and had to cough out the tray. As I was chocking, doctor kept pushing the tray into my throat. I started vomiting and he pushed the tray deeper into my throat which made me gag more. I asked him to use a smaller tray or less material on it, but he told me that I should not have dentures at all if I am so intolerant, and when we told him that I am ill and needs olid food he just shrugged and smiled, and told me to leave. His nurse yelled at me that it's my fault because "I have interrupted the doctor by pushing his hand away when I was choking". Both me and my husband were asking him to try again, because my previous dentist always used less material for impressions to make it easier on me, but he refused. He turned his back on me and ignored me asking him questions, as if I did not exist. .Both the doctor and the nurse were angry that I gagged, and the doctor told me i have ot go to another doctor and ignored us when we told him that he gave us an estimate and we pulled my teeth so he could take impressions. They barely spent two minutes with me and almost completely ignored me. They didn't explain my dental procedure to me at all, even after I asked for an explanation. I was very nervous about having a procedure done that I didn't know anything about, but I still apologized for gagging and they continued being rude. Doctor promised a referral to another dentist , but when his nurse lead us back into the waiting room, she just threw a piece of paper for us with a phone number of another doctor who lives miles away. When I asked he things politely as to where I am to go and what am i to do without teeth now, she snarled at me in response ("do you want to get his phone number yourself then?"). We were shocked by their behaviour.
