I have been going to Dr. Rowe for over 30 years. The last 2 years the office staff has seemed to be more interested in maxing my insurance benefits out than telling me alternate options. I have good insurance $600 per year benefits. I use to get eye exam and pair of frames and lenses (progressive) and pay about $35 - $50 out of pocket. Just got done with this years exam and frame and lenses purchase. They got full $600 from my Vision insurance, billed my medical insurance $175 thinking they would pay. Nobody asked me about my medical insurance. Hell no they aren't going to pay. I have a $2,600 deductible. Then they got $225 out of pocket from me. I now have to pay the $175 they billed my Medical Insurance. Folks that's $600 + 175 + 225= $1,000 for an annual eye exam a pair of fames and a set of lenses. Worst thing was I was not told the total cost. I was repeatedly told "oh don't worry you have great insurance". Never was I given a breakdown on what I was ordering and what it was costing me. I wasn't too happy paying the $225 out of pocket, but when I got the bill for the $175 I knew something had changed. I went back in and asked for a complete itemized bill of what I had done, ordered and what the payments were from my insurance co. You would have thought I was asking Congress to explain the national budget. I was given so much run around, jibbers smoke and mirrors that I finally had to demand a complete itemized list of service and charges. When I got it sure enough I hadn't paid $1,000 for the service I paid $1,105. I had a $105 credit from last year that had been applied to the bill. When I asked where that came from, I was told that when they got the $600 from my insurance company last year they had to give me a contracted discount, of $105. Yet no one told me about this credit, no one sent me a refund check. What if I had not went back to Dr. Rowe??? I just now followed up to see if I had a credit from this years transaction and low and behold I have a $138.50 credit. I promptly asked for a refund check.

Their office was the absolute perfect temperature. It was so nice to be able to get out of the weather outside and sit in a relaxing, comfortable office. They are completely committed to helping me as long as it takes to find the best solution. I never have to worry that they'll back out or give up if a solution isn't reached immediately, which has been a problem for me at other places. I love how much attention to detail they show. They are always so careful and meticulous. I never have to worry about them making a mistake or forgetting something. Everyone in my community knows that they are the absolute best in the field.
