My husband & I decided to spend our birthday weekend in Pittsburgh at the beautiful Omni William Penn Hotel. I was ecstatic to find the four star hotel had a day spa, Nail Galleria. I quickly booked a facial. I was confident the spa would be a great experience based on its association with the Omni William Penn. I arrived for my facial and decided to have my lip and brow waxed as well. Approximately one hour later I emerged feeling clean, a little sore, and looking very red. I dismissed my husband's comments about the red tender appearance of my right eye. He said my eyelid was burned. Within two hours a wound on my eye began to seep, we returned to the hotel room, my evening plans were ruined. The next day I went to the spa to discuss my wound. The manager, Denise was very rude. She offerred to deduct the cost of the waxing from my bill and told me to put Neosporin on it. You can imagine how disappointed I was. The burn is very noticable. I work with the public and a large facial blemish such as this burn is very embarassing. I went to the doctor and her confirmed I have a 1inch by 3/4 inch second degree burn on my right lid. I am currently receiving medical treatment to prevent permanent scarring. I would not recommend this spa to anyone who values their appearance.
