Has much better equipment than the last gym, which I believe was Tropical Fitness, but am extremely disappointed in a couple people who work there. Other than Drew Goldsmith and a few others at the front desk, who are absolutely great, some of the crew is completely incompetent, mostly the manager. For example, I wanted to bring a friend of mine as a guest to check it out and even printed him out a 7 day "VIP" guest pass but was told that he couldn't come in unless he joined. Even after explaining to the manager, Joshua Labadie, that I wanted him to be my guest, I was told no, without the slightest consideration. I have also heard stories of Joshua Labadie refusing to talk to members who have had weight dropped on them by faulty machines. I would be surprised if Joshua Labadie was ever allowed a managerial position again after the stories of complete disrespect he has shown towards the gym's members. Also, one of the staff there, who looks like he has never lifted weights before and is about 19 years old, is constantly yelling at members for "dropping" their weight. I know what dropping a weight means and am against it fully, but when I placed my 100 pound dumbbell on the ground, I was immediately chastised for "dropping" the weight and was threatened to be kicked out. Many members have complained about this supposed "dropping of the weights". I am writing this not as a former disgruntled member either because I am still a member and am just hoping for change because I can see the potential.

Gold's took over for Tropical Fitness several months ago. I was automatically paying $32 per month from a previous agreement. Wouldn't you think a business would contact all of the carry-over customers to let them know the good news that the "standard" monthly fee is only $21? No they didn't!!! I only found out today (1/25/13) because I had to switch credit cards and went online to try and found the standard rate was $21 (with tax). I called the Gym and the representative told me that if a customer finds out about the lower rate and asks for it, they will change it.... Went in today to suggest they actually try to contact previous members, especially considering they contacted 2 other members of my family - who weren't gym members now - when they opened offering them the lower rate. I assumed it was a special for new members, as they NEVER contacted me. Wow... really poor business model. Gold's - you lost a customer for life, as the manager got upset I was pointing out the ill-treatment of carry-over customers, and subsequently cancelled my membership....
