Services Needle Acupuncture Treatment of specific condition or pain symptoms by stimulating acupuncture points with very fine needles. Usually very little, if any, pain associated with this treatment. Electrical Acupuncture Treatment of specific condition or pain syndrome by stimulating acupuncture points with a gentle electrical current. Usually very little, or no discomfort associated with this treatment. Meridian Balancing Electro-Meridian imaging using sophisticated computer analysis, to measure activity of all 12 meridians of the body. Then specific treatment and overall balancing of the body’s meridian’s is performed based on these findings. Chiropractic Adjustments Chiropractic adjustments, also called manipulations, can be described as a low force thrust to put proper movement and position into a spinal bone, allowing optimal functioning of the nerve roots that exit the spine at that level. When irritated by the locked or dysfunctional joints, spinal nerves can send pain signals. For example, spinal nerves exiting the neck region supply the head, arms and hands. Therefore, when a nerve is irritated or "pinched" at this level, a person may experience neck pain or headache or arm and hand pain and tingling. Likewise, the nerves in the low back supply the buttocks, legs and feet, so nerves irritated in the low back may cause back, buttocks or leg pain, or numbness and tingling. A chiropractic adjustment restores proper position and movement of the vertebrae, thereby allowing the exiting spinal nerves at these levels to function normally. A chiropractic adjustment is gentle and usually completely comfortable and painfree. Especially exciting is the fact that the nerves that exit your spine through your spinal bones, also supply all cells in all organ systems of your body. Needless to say, chiropractic adjustments allow our bodies to be optimally healthy. Pre Post-Natal Care Chiropractic is extremely beneficial during pregnancy. Due to the increased frontal weight bearing, the mother is much more prone to low back and leg pain . In fact, in the last trimester, one of the most common complications of pregnancy is low back pain. Gentle chiropractic adjustments can realign the pelvis and take pressure off of the nerves, thus eliminating low back pain and leg discomfort. In addition, many women have found that by keeping optimum mobility and function in their pelvic and low back bone, they actually have less complications and easier labor and delivery. Dr. Bavaro is very skilled in acupuncture services for pregnant women. Postnatal spinal care is extremely important, in order to realign the shifted low back and pelvic bones and speed up recovery time for mother. Dr. Bavaro-Lawlor understands first hand all the pre and postnatal stressors on women, as she herself is the mother of three children. She enjoys working with the women and mothers of her community. She routinely receives referrals for obstetricians and midwives in the area. Additional Services Acupuncture
