Charlatan from the east

Snake oil would be a compliment. After weeks of being poked and prodded and not listened to by the "Dr" my girlfriend and I were in more pain than when we started. Dr. Thompson always seemed frazzled like he had never seen us before and would randomly poke us with his activator (I have been to chiropractors who had used this technique in the past that would actually pay attention to where they were treating and tell you what they were doing, with results). After several weeks of my girlfriend not being able to even stand up straight we decided this was not helping. We stopped going to Dr. Thompson. Within a week our pain was gone! About another week later I got a bill in the mail for $450+. Apparently in the 20 minutes of mindless jibber jabber coming from Mrs. Thompson at the desk she didn't feel it necessary to inform me that I had a co-pay (yes, I know it would tell me on my insurance info. That being said I have never once been seen at any other medical office without paying a co-pay first. They thought it would be acceptable to continue to let me ring up a bill unknowingly. Had I not stopped going what would my bill be now? $10,000?
