Had surgery for corrective lenses in both eyes with Dr. French. Could not be happier with the results. I was having trouble seeing even with corrective lenses glasses. After the surgery I do not have to wear any glasses, not even to read. Very pleased. Dr. French communicated clearly everything that was taking place. Told us what to expect. Provided a thorough examination and asked detailed questions to make the procedure as successful as possible. I highly recommend Carolina Eye Ass. and Dr. French.

My wife had cataract surgery by Dr. Fakadej. She immediately began having problems, then lost vision - took them a week to discover that she had developed an infection in her eye (Fakadej remarked that she had the flu), which they treated with multiple painful antibiotic shots in the eye; they then wanted to do a Vitrectomy surgery to remove the inflammation from her eye, which she did not have done. Tests later at Duke Eye Care determined that the infection occurred quickly after surgery, and that the recommended surgery would have not been successful, as her optic nerve was destroyed by the infection, a condition which cannot be corrected; therefore, that eye is blind for life. Dr. Fakadej had previously treated my wife for a scratch on the cornea, which she indicated had healed??? She did not see my wife for a month before the surgery, and no pre-op visit. Also, there is no indication that antibiotics were used after surgery. Her arrogance, quick actions on decisions and relaying information, and the initial lack of attention to my wife's condition was very disappointing. Carolina Eye has gone downhill since the passing of founder, Dr. Martin, as greed has set in. Never schedule surgery late on a Friday, especially with a surgeon who has to travel an hour to get home (surgery was in Asheboro, NC)!
