He's the best. He does not push drugs on you. He takes the time to listen to his patients. The waiting room time can be long, but it's because he listens to his patients, therefore worth the wait.

Despite going to Dr. Golomb’s office for the better part of two decades, I cannot in good conscience recommend this office to anyone. It must have been location that inspired my parents to choose this office in my early years because as I coast into my mid-twenties all I see now is incompetence and lots of it. First off, it is not Dr. Golomb’s office anymore. He is part-time at best at this stage in his career and has bestowed his office space to a couple of amateurs. Compound this with the fact that the secretary is both rude and ignorant in person, and only sparingly returns phone calls when you choose to leave a message. So in other words you don’t even have to be present to be negatively impacted by the staff that Galomb’s successors have chosen to negligently carry the torch.

I’ll keep the examples quick as I’ve already spent too much time on the build-up. The last time I was in the office for a check up the “stand-in” doctor proceeded to send and retrieve text messages while speaking to me about my health. It seemed as if he didn’t want to be bothered with my concerns and I’d be shocked if he even head a single word I said. Also, don’t even try to ask him a question. A few months ago I asked him an important (and common) health question and he took out a medical dictionary to answer and even then, the results were far from definitive, and furthermore, icoherent. As a matter of fact I’ve also been in to see another one of Golomb’s chosen successors and been equally disappointed. In a vital discussion about blood pressure and my future heath, she offered little assistance or information. The lack of knowledge isn this so-called medical office is astounding.

Perhaps the icing the cake of incompetence occurred a couple of summers ago. I made a slew of appointments over the course of a few weeks due to illnesses, etc. The female doctor made an off the cuff remark saying that she thought it was because “I really really liked the doctor”. Yes, she meant it “that” why, which her condescending look confirmed. I don’t think I’ve ever been more uncomfortable in an office in my life. I don’t have any issue with a person’s sexual preference but for a doctor to make such an accusation (and voice it!) is beyond offensive.

Putting the lack of professionalism aside, you can also plan on waiting a very long time to be seen. I’ve never spent less than 35 minutes in the waiting room and that’s not including the 10 minutes you will be ignored by the secretary upon arrival. I have taken this as a personal affront over the years until I witnessed her do this to another patron, who wasn’t nearly as patient or receptive to this treatment as I was. After you’re ignored don’t expect to be treated with respect, either, as this secretary will talk down to you and make you feel less than human. You have to experience it to believe it.

Overall, expect an unsavory experience with this doctor’s office. I would not place my future children’s health in the hands of such incompetence. I have nothing to gain from writing this review except maybe informing you of a potentially ill-fated decision you will make if you choose this office. The fact that I neglected to switch years ago is my own fault but you still have a choice. Choose another doctor.
