I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups within a private practice setting in Encino, California. Having received my CAMFT supervisor certification in 2001, I additionally serve as a consultant for other mental health professionals and provide supervision for unlicensed therapists. As a graduate of Antioch University in Marina Del Rey and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Steve has provided psychodynamic therapy for a diverse spectrum of clients, for the last 27 years.
In addition to my expertise with difficult adolescents, parent/relational issues and problems, anxiety, mood disorders, crisis intervention, and issues related to bereavement and loss, I has a particular interest in working with individuals who were raised to believe that they weren’t special and have difficulties establishing equality within their relationships.
In addition to maintaining my private practice in the San Fernando Valley, Steve served as the Clinical Director at North Hills Preparatory School, a non-profit educational facility that services the educational needs of severely emotionally disturbed middle and senior high school students. Throughout this period, I have presented trainings on a variety of topics including, but not limited to transference, countertransference, projective identification, asperger’s syndrome, borderline and narcissistic personality disorders, depression, parenting, power struggles, and conflict resolution.
