My training and experience promote a diverse approach during therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor; Certified Family Life Educator; Board Certified Christian Counselor; and certified by the Veteran’s Administration in treatment of trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. I have a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Life from Concordia University. At University of Michigan Business School, I completed the Advanced Human Resource Executive Program, and worked in related corporate areas for 30 years. Outside of counseling, I am a 30 year commercial airline pilot; and a veteran, having served 10 years in the United States Air Force. Married 29 years, my wife and I have two daughters, both young adults.
My approach to psychotherapy is to select best practices in counseling theory to support client growth. Especially helpful is an understanding of family systems: relationships, effective functions, loss and recovery. A Christian-based, solution-focused approach offers positive orientation and hope. Together, these approaches encourage growth and a healthy outlook; results that emerge gradually, cumulatively and continuously
