Has there ever been a time when you where hurting and your favorite chiropractor and your amazing massage therapist just could not get you fixed up? Well Mr. Anthony Barletta, an armature Baseball pitcher with Certifications in, Fitness training, Sports injury and Biomechanics had just that scenario.
Back in 2003 after one spring practice, he developed a condition that did not allow him to raise his arms over his head while sleeping without pain. For 5 straight days he saw Chiropractors and massage therapist that did nothing for him. In desperation he googled “shoulder pain relief” and found Ms. Kim LeMoon whom he contacted. Ms. LeMoon was not your average Massage Therapist; she loved experimenting with different techniques to ease the pain of her clients. She believed that muscles fascia gets stuck to itself, other muscles and bone (Adhesion) causing nerve entrapment resulting in pain and restricted range of motion. The techniques she developed are unlike anything he ever experienced, not only did she fix the problem, it stayed fixed for years. It made a believer out of him and made her the healer of choice for all his sports dilemmas.
This technique worked wonders on pitching issue like arm, wrist and shoulder pain, at 45 years old; Mr. Barletta was virtually pain free after pitching 7 innings and could pitch another 4 more in his mid-week games. He sent his clients and team mates to see her also and referred more people than she could possible handle.
Over the next few years, Mr. Barletta picked up on her technique and was effectively helping his clients and teammate with this technique and so in 2007, he decided to ask Ms. LeMoon if she would share all her knowledge with him. Amazingly she had been trying to teach many of her peers without any luck, she said “They just don’t get it “ the problem is that it goes against everything they teach you in massage school. She was thrilled that someone understood the basis of the technique and taught Mr. Barletta everything that she developed and told him to go out and fix the world, giving birth to Muscle Correction Therapy (MCT).
