I am a psychologist in private practice in the Fort Lee/Englewood Cliffs area of New Jersey. I graduated Columbia University in 1976 and received my license to practice psychology in 1979. My postdoctoral training included a 5-year program in individual psychotherapy the New Jersey Institute in Teaneck, NJ and a 2-year certification program in group psychotherapy at the PostGraduate Center for Mental Health in New York City. I am currently on the faculty of the New Jersey Institute where I am also a supervisor. I have presented lectures, seminars and workshops at various locations; the most recent (2007) being at the Menninger Clinic in Houston Texas where I spoke on "The Caretaker Personality Disorder".
I treat (adult) individuals, and couples and lead therapy groups. I have a general practice and treat a range of problems that include depression, anxiety, panic, and personality disorders. I am a published author on a variety of subjects (see here). I am a member of the New Jersey Psychological Associaton and Diplomate American Psychotherapy Association.
I was born and raised in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York. I have a younger brother and two older sisters. For at least 10 years I was raised exclusively by my mother until she re-married when I was age 9. I am an accomplished singer and athlete.
