Ann Abram, LCSW, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical social worker and psychoanalyst with a practice in Norwalk, CT. She has over twenty five years of clinical experience. Over the course of the last ten years, Dr. Abram has led numerous parenting groups for first-time mothers as well as for parents of young children and adolescents in New York and Connecticut. She is now introducing a group for empty-nesters.
Dr. Ann Abram is a member of the Inaugural Class of the Jewish Board and Family Service’s (JBFCS) Institute for Infants, Children and Families. She is currently a member of the Leadership Council of the Institute for Infants, Children, and Families, and serves as Chair of the Alumni Network for the Institute. In addition, she has taught Attachment Theory at the Institute, and has also taught at the National Psychoanalytic Association for Psychoanalysis, where she received her psychoanalytic certification. Dr. Abram is an inaugural member of GAINS (Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies), reflecting her deep commitment to integrate the latest brain research findings into her practice.

Interests: Dr. Abram is interested in all aspects of parenting; the mother/infant relationship, brain development, and the possibility of transformation for the first-time mother. In fact, this was the topic for her dissertation completed at New York University’s School of Social Work. Dr. Abram received her MA in social service from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service and Administration, and her B.A. from Boston University.
