Interests: The integration of the relationship of the mind, braind and body as well. Without the knowledge of the human body from my medical training, the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s psychological struggles would not only be incomplete and lacking, but often more innaccurate than this challenging specialty of medicine in. All aspects of the person are intertwined. A clinician trying to address an isolated system is missing seeing the patient as a whole person. Interests from psychotherapy, psychopharmacology when appropriate, medical pharmacology, womens’ issues and companion animal bereavement. The latter often dismissed by ’professionals’, but in many patients can prove to be a very significant factor driving their symptoms, and therefore would also affect any treatment offered.
In the past when insurance was accepted, there was so much interference by a 3rd party who had never treated a patient, clinical time lost due to mandated administrative time getting pre-authorizations, re-explaining why ’their’ recommended treatment that was authorized would not be used, as it had been in the past and didn’t work then. All this took time away from patient care and also drove overhead up. I have since dropped all insurance, appointment times take whatever time is necessary. No such thing as the 10 minute, get them in, get them out appointment. Treatment philosophy is a team approach, it takes both the doctor and the patient giving their best effort to have a far more positive outcome as is possible. Every patient is unique, no 2 people are alike, nor are their treatments. Comprehensive and Holistic approaches are also offered if it is likely to be in the patient’s best interest. No insurance also means no ’decision-tree’ to follow. Those patient’s with insurance may submit their receipt for whatever reimbursement their plan allows.

Finally able to treat patients the way I'd want my family treated without any third party/insurance influencing treatment without caring about what might be in the patient's best interest. (1 followers)
