Dr. Jacobs joined Contemporary OB/GYN Associates in November 2013. He has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in the Silver Spring area since 1986. Dr. Jacobs received his Bachelors of Science from The University of Maryland, College Park in 1978. He attended The University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, graduating with Honors in 1982. Dr. Jacobs completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Honors included being Chief Resident in 1986, and being voted The Best Teaching Resident by the medical students.
Dr. Jacobs' special interests include high risk pregnancy and infertility.
Dr. Jacobs has been Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1988. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Jacobs has served on the Board of Holy Cross Hospital, Chaired the Holy Cross Hospital Gynecology Surgery Peer Review Committee, and has been voted a Washington Magazine “Top Doctor” since 1999. Dr. Jacobs is an Associate Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at the George Washington School of Medicine, serving as a highly regarded preceptor to 3rd year medical students.
His philosophy with regard to patient care is based on listening, communication and giving each patient the time she needs to feel that she has received the highest quality of care.
Family is a critical part of Dr. Jacobs’ life. He has three daughters, the oldest working at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, while his twin daughters are sophomores at The University of Maryland. All 3 daughters are planning careers in health care.
