Dr. Rogers is a native of Southern California. He graduated with honors from Harvard University in 1985, and then attended dental school at UCLA.
His interest in dentistry developed at an early age. Due to childhood illnesses, his permanent teeth never developed the hard enamel covering. As a result, he had many of his primary teeth extracted to allow the weak permanent teeth to erupt. By the age of 12, he had a cavity on nearly every tooth, and was often teased by other kids about the brown color of his teeth.
Many years later, after extensive orthodontics and oral surgery, Dr. Rogers finally had veneers placed on his front teeth. For the first time in his life, he could smile without the fear of strange looks from others. He knows first hand the psychological and physical benefits of having cosmetic dental work, and has great empathy for patients in similar circumstances. In addition, Dr. Rogers has experienced toothaches requiring root canal treatment and numerous crowns on his back teeth, helping him to be sensitive to how patients feel about their treatment. Finally, Dr. Rogers is currently in treatment for TMJ problems, and understands how frustrating it can be for people with similar problems.
