Wunmi Sokan

Dr. Wunmi Sokan, DNP, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She has nearly a decade of experience in behavioral health, including child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry, treating patients struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma, substance abuse and addiction, OCD, and psychosis. Dr. Sokan also provides telemedicine coverage. Dr. Sokan earned her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Georgia State University in 2008, followed by her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in 2015. She then earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Global in 2023. Dr. Sokan has experience in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient care. She was previously a nurse practitioner at Signify Health in Dallas, Texas, and a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner at various organizations. Dr. Sokan is board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), respectively. Before nursing and medicine, Dr. Sokan studied Economics and Statistics and obtained her BSN in 1994, working with various financial institutions. Dr. Sokan is also a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International member.
