My name is John Ivie and I am a NSCA (National Conditioning Association) Certified Personal Trainer. I have served
eight years in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Washington D.C., a
year in South Korea, and a deployment to Iraq, where I was awarded
the bronze star and purple heart.
Then in January of 2006, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, which
changed everything for me, shining a whole new light on health and
fitness. After my diagnosis my life truly changed, in that health and
fitness, something that I had always paid attention to, was now my
number one priority.
All of my life I have had a passion for physical fitness and helping
others, and after being diagnosed with diabetes, I felt a calling to take
my passions, put them together and pursue the fantastic world of fitness
and personal training.
So, I enrolled myself into NPTI (national personal training institute) a
course solely dedicated to the world of personal training. NPTI is a
widely recognized course with some of the fitness industries best
instructors. At NPTI my horizons where completely broadened and I
was quickly set on the path to start my own personal training business.
My experiences in the Army, diagnosis of diabetes, and In-depth
training at NPTI have all been combined to make me a better trainer in
that I have continually been taught the value of hard work and
self-discipline. Also, having diabetes makes me more sensitive to my
clients special needs and concerns in that I better understand where
they are coming from. These things combined with the vast knowledge
of the fitness world, gained through NPTI, have come together to make
Ivie Fitness a truly effective personal training business, that can make
your fitness goals a reality.
