North Texas Family Health is an independent family healthcare clinic that services Van Alstyne and surrounding communities. Managed by Richard Templeman, a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 14 years of healthcare experience.

North Texas Family Health provides comprehensive management of family wellness and health assessment, diagnostics, and treatment. Providing preventative screenings, assessments with in-clinic diagnostic equipment, and appropriate treatment for various disease and medical conditions.

Why Van Alstyne?
There is a booming population growth underway and predicted to increase up to 3.5% over future (actual population growth has shown greater than 10.2% increase between 2016 & 2017). The families moving to these communities will consist of all age groups, multiple cultures, and with various health related ailments or conditions.

In Van Alstyne, 2017 had a population of 3,964, a 10.2% growth rate increase from 2016 and 7.23% average growth rate since 2013. Projected growth of 1.8-3.5% is based on all towns and cities along highway 75 north of McKinney and south of the Oklahoma border. Actual growth trends for the community of Van Alstyne have much higher results (7.2-10.2+% yearly).

Expansion of highway 75 to a minimum of six lanes from Dallas north to the Oklahoma border is already underway. Six lanes exist from McKinney north to Anna currently and new construction from Anna north to Van Alstyne is beginning to break ground as of the start of 2019. Sherman is growing southward with highway expansion underway.

The once “small communities” of highway 75 are now growing faster than resources can provide. Many healthcare clinics are at their capacity and are no longer receiving new patients. This redirects patients to seek healthcare services in other towns and cities, where the number of primary care providers are more abundant. Most “patients” with in the smaller communities such as Van Alstyne, utilize medical and primary care services in the larger cities north and south of them. With Sherman being 17 miles north of Van Alstyne and McKinney being 17 miles south of Van Alstyne, the necessity for starting and sustaining a primary care practice is at a premium.
