Joseph Spires, DPM is a board qualified Foot and Ankle Surgeon. He is a native of central Illinois and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Springfield with a bachelors in chemistry. He completed medical school, magna cum laude, at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. Dr. Spires then completed his podiatric surgical residency at Norton Healthcare in Louisville with emphasis on foot/ankle trauma and reconstruction. During his residency, he participated in a variety of volunteering opportunities, including aiding the Louisville Ironman and Kentucky Derby medical tents. He is ACLS certified and is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Spires believes in not only treating foot and ankle related issues, but treating the patient as a whole and listening to all their questions and concerns. His areas of interest are foot and ankle trauma, flatfoot reconstruction and elective forefoot surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, traveling and spending time with his wife, three children and dog, Ali.
