Dr. Grin has earned Fellowship in the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and Fellow in the American Headache Society. He is a Diplomate American Board of Orofacial Pain and holds a Master of Public Health Degree. The practice of the Orofacial Pain was recognized more than a century ago (1904), but it is still an under recognized medical field. According to prevalence studies, over 14% of the population or 43.9 million people have experienced a chronic orofacial pain disorder that needs treatment in the past year alone. The statistics of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, most patients spend 4.2 years and see 5.3 clinicians before they get to the right place and see the doctor who specializes in their problems. Therefore, in 2013 Paul Grin, DDS, MPH has established the South Bay Headache, TMJ and Orofacial Pain Institute to treat patients, to conduct research and to educate the public and other health care professionals in Orofacial Pain.
