Root Canal Therapy Remove
Root Canal Therapy
Dr. Bernard Ang offers fast, efficient root canals to get you out of pain quickly. Some believe the “bad rap” that dentistry often gets can be traced back to root canal therapy.
For many of us, even the thought of a root canal makes our skin crawl, but the good news is root canal therapy has advanced considerably over the last decade and no longer means a painful trip to the dentist. Dr. Ang makes sure that your root canal is fast, gentle and with little or no post-treatment pain.
Why a root canal?
A root canal is preformed when a tooth is badly infected, has broken badly or its root has died.
In order to stop the infection from spreading, Dr. Ang must get to the nerve and pulp inside the tooth and remove it – thereby eliminating the infection. The nerve only serves a sensory function in your tooth, telling your brain when something is hot or cold. Eliminating the nerve will not affect the function of your tooth.
Signs you may need a root canal:
-Discoloration of the tooth
-Severe toothache pain upon chewing or biting down
-A persistent or recurring abscess on the gums
-Swelling and tenderness in the nearby gums
-Prolonged sensitivity/pain to heat or cold temperatures
Dr. Ang’s root canal procedure:
Dr. Ang uses a motorized rotary instrument for cleaning out the infected tooth. He will ensure you are comfortable and that your procedure will be pain-free. He will drill a small hole through the top of the tooth to reach the inner part of the tooth where the infection lies. He then uses a motorized rotary instrument to quickly and efficiently remove the diseased tissue.
The root canal is then cleaned, filled and sealed. The tooth may require a crown for a permanent seal, depending on the seriousness of the infection and decay involved.

Dental Crowns Remove
Dental Crowns
State-of-the-Art Natural-Looking, Durable Crowns:
A dental crown is used to cap teeth that are broken-down, decayed or chipped. They can also be used cosmetically to change the color, shape or length of the tooth.
Dr. Ang uses the iTero™ scanning system to make accurate digital impressions for your crown. These are superior to the traditional impressions made with putty, as well as being quicker and more comfortable. The iTero uses 100,000 points of tiny laser lights to capture the impression of the patient’s teeth and bite. This information is transmitted to proprietary 3D software that Dr. Ang uses to design the crown.
For a completely natural look, Dr. Ang uses all-porcelain crowns and an excellent lab that makes the crowns by hand. Handmade crowns give incomparable translucence and vitality. For durability, Dr .Ang uses the very strong e.max porcelain.
Why a Crown?
Dr. Ang recommends crowns for a variety of reasons:
-Restore an already broken tooth or a tooth that has been severely worn down
-Hold a dental bridge in place
-Cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t a lot of tooth left
-Protect a weak tooth from breaking or to hold together a cracked tooth
-Cover misshapen or severely discolored teeth
-To improve a person’s bite. A poor bite – how the teeth touch when chewing – can be the cause of problems such as TMJ pain, headaches and teeth grinding.
-To lengthen teeth that are too short
-Smile makeovers. For some patients, crowns can be a good alternative to porcelain veneers for creating a brand new smile. Typically Dr .Ang will recommend crowns over porcelain veneers when the teeth have a lot of decay or when crowns are needed to also adjust the bite.

Dental Implants Remove
Dental Implants
Dental implants are the modern standard for treating missing teeth. Ultra-strong and durable, dental implants can be considered a permanent solution that feel and look like natural teeth.
Dr. Ang is a graduate of the London Institute in Implant Placement Surgery and he has equipped his office with the latest technology in implant placement, making the process efficient, comfortable and minimally invasive.
Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth or to stabilize dentures and bridges to create full-mouth restorations.
Dental Implants look, feel & function like your own teeth. A dental implant is composed of a titanium post, which acts as the root, and a new tooth (a crown) that is placed on the implant.
Dental implants are the best option for tooth replacement because they integrate into the structure of your bone and they actually prevent bone loss and gum recession that can be associated with dentures and bridges.
They have definite advantages over other methods of tooth replacement:
-Improved comfort – they won’t slide uncomfortably like a denture.
-Easier eating – the implant is stable and as solid as a healthy natural tooth.
-Improved speech – compared to slipping dentures, which can make you mumble or slur.
-Durability – with proper care, brushing, flossing and regular check-ups, an implant can last a lifetime.
-Better than a bridge – for patients with one missing tooth, an implant is far superior, as it doesn’t require the cutting down and crowing of adjacent teeth to act as anchors for the bridge.
-Better oral health – just like your own teeth, regular brushing and flossing will keep gum disease away
-Prevents bone loss – missing teeth or other replacement options such as bridges or dentures allow the bone to deteriorate. The presence of natural teeth preserves the jawbone. When a root is missing the bone may erode and weaken. The dental implant fuses with the bone, creating a similar stable support.
Dr. Ang uses the latest in digital advancement and technology to place your implant accurately, efficiently and comfortably. A properly placed implant, including any necessary additional procedures such as bone grafting to augment the bone, will ensure that your new tooth will function well and be lasting.
3D Cat Scan:
The first step is a thorough oral examination and 3D X-rays of your skull area to give a 360º view. With the 3D images Dr. Ang can see the condition of your teeth, your bone depth, the position of the nerves and the sinus, and from this along with the other information he has gathered, can determine an exact treatment plan.
He studies the 3D images from the CAT scan to determine ahead of time the exact position and angle of your implant. As needed, he can create surgical guides that are placed on the gum for precision implant placement.
Your implant surgery:
If your bone depth is insufficient, Dr. Ang will arrange bone grafting, and for those with a large sinus cavity that doesn’t provide enough room for the implant, a sinus lift.
With all this preparation, your surgery is very quick and comfortable. Dr. Ang can place an implant in one short visit, and there is usually little to no post-surgical discomfort. He supplies you with temporary teeth while your implant is healing.
Digital impressions:
Dr. Ang employs digital impressions made with the Cadent iTero system. This system takes detailed measurements of your mouth and tooth structure so that implants can be made to fit perfectly.
Dr. Ang generally allows your implant about four months to integrate with the jaw at which point you are ready to have your permanent tooth placed. Dr. Ang uses handmade crowns from an excellent lab. These crowns look like your natural teeth; translucent and vital. They are also made from very durable porcelain.
Implant options:
With a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals, Dr. Ang can offer several different implant options to replace one or more of your missing teeth:
-Single-tooth implants
-Implant-supported bridges
-Implant-supported denture
Dr. Ang will help you choose the best option for you.

Dentures Remove
Dentures
Secure, stable, natural-looking dentures. At our full-service dental office, we strive to offer everything our patients need. And even though we want to help our patients keep their teeth for a lifetime, we also provide a wide range of dentures.
Based on your individual needs, Dr. Ang will recommend the best type of denture for you. We use a very sophisticated dental lab so you can rest assured your denture will fit well and be long-lasting.
Full & Partial Dentures:
Dr. Ang provides high-quality full and partial dentures that are well-fitting and comfortable. Your first step in getting your new dentures is a full examination, x-rays and consultation. If you need teeth extraction, Dr. Ang will take care of that as well, comfortably and painlessly.
Implant-Supported Dentures:
With implant-supported dentures you will get much greater stability – that means no slippage, greater comfort and the ability to chew what you want. The more implants used, the greater the stability and the greater the look and feel like natural teeth.
A denture can be supported with just two dental implants in an arch. Dr. Ang likes to use minimally three to four dental implants for better support. Implants with are placed in your gum and the dentures are fitted to snap on and off the implants.
With six to eight implants, the need for pink plastic sides is eliminated and your teeth emerge from the gum like natural teeth.
Mini Implants:
Dr. Ang also uses mini implants to stabilize dentures. Mini implants are, as their name suggests, smaller dental implants that can be placed less invasively than dental implants. In one visit, your mini implants can be placed, and your retrofitted denture or new denture, snapped on.
Valplast® No-Metal Dentures:
Dr. Ang offers flexible, non-metal partial dentures by Valplast. Made from an unbreakable nylon resin, Valplast offers a lifetime guarantee against breakage and fracture. Valplast allows your restoration to adapt to the constant movement in your mouth, seamlessly and comfortably.
Hybrid Denture:
A Hybrid Denture, or Bridge Denture uses several implants per arch and is permanently fixed in your mouth. Dr. Ang can remove them for cleaning or other dental care.
Denture Stabilization:
Dr. Ang can fit your existing denture more securely in your mouth by utilizing implants or mini-implants. Over years of use, the gums in your mouth start to recede, making your denture loose. If you feel your denture starting to slip, call us for a consultation.

TMJ Disorder Treatment Remove
TMJ Disorder Treatment
TMJ Disorder refers to problems that occur in the temporomandibular joint – this is the joint that hinges your lower jaw to the temporal bone of your skull – the jaw itself and the surrounding muscles. Typical problems as a result of TMJ Disorder are jaw joint pain, clicking or popping of the joint and headaches.
Treating headaches and TMJ Disorder with Bioesthetic Dentistry:
With Bioesthetic Dentistry, Dr. Ang can offer light at the end of the tunnel for those plagued with persistent headaches and joint pain.
Bioesthethic Dentistry takes into account the entire chewing system — the teeth, jaw joints and supporting muscles. An imbalance of the chewing system, seen as a misalignment in the bite (position of the teeth when chewing), can cause many adverse symptoms.
When the bite is not working properly, our muscles tighten in an attempt to move the jaw in a position that will make the teeth touch when we chew or swallow. This occurs hundreds of times each day, causing various problems, such as jaw pain, headaches and damaged or worn teeth. It can additionally affect the entire face structure, creating a clenched or sunken look.
The solution:
In a healthy chewing system, muscles are stable, jaw joints are relaxed and teeth are practically unworn. With Bioesthetic Dentistry, the goal is to return the chewing system to full health by getting the jaw into the correct position and the bite properly aligned.
TMJ Disorder treatment:
The first step in your treatment is to establish the natural and optimum position that your jaw joint and teeth should be in for a comfortable bite. Dr. Ang uses the revolutionary MAGO Therapy to immediately relieve you of symptoms as well as to find that optimal balance.
MAGO Therapy uses simple mouth guards that are worn over a period 3-6 months and are adjusted weekly until the bite is seen to be stable and comfortable. You’ll generally feel immediate relief and often after just a couple of weeks, the symptoms go away completely.
With the optimum position of the jaw and bite now established, Dr. Ang is ready to go ahead with the permanent handling of your painful symptoms. This can be as simple as making your teeth longer with the bonding of dental composite material. Treatment can also include orthodontics to reposition your teeth and/or your jaw, or the use of crowns to lengthen or reposition teeth. In severe and rare cases, jaw surgery might be needed.
