Dr. Canales suffers from a God complex. He is good at what he does but his bedside manner sucks. Any cardiologist that is any good would be on par with him, what matters is how they care for their patients and take time to explain and lecture less. He spends more time lecturing his patients than he does to talk to them and act like he cares. While in the hospital for chest pain the first thing he did was walk in and lecture. He doesn’t care to offer help in achieving what he tells you to do, nor is he realistic in his views. After my Cath lab, he said no stent needed and keep up diet and exercise. I asked him what about my ongoing chest pain, he said while he rushes out of recovery room, go see your PCP. So after I saw my PCP I learned what would have taken him 5 minutes to explain to me as his paying patient. Switching cardiologist.
