This PA (Physician's assistant) works in an office with a very pleasant doctor and staff but for some reason she felt it appropriate to ask me the background of my last name prior to the doctor entering the surgery and then proceeded to give me her back after I told her. I thought that perhaps she was tired of chatting and this of course would have been fine but she then proceeded to speak to me in a patronizing way. This I did not comprehend. I was reluctant to ask questions or speak to her and this should never be the case, especially when the surgeon leaves and allows his assistant to finish up with bandaging, etc. I did not return to the facility and felt sad that with so many lovely people there this one person made things so unpleasant. I have tried to pray for her and those who have the misfortune of having to interact with her when she suffers from these episodes of prejudice.
