My mother has been a resident for over 12 years and you must think why after hearing this why is she still here. Well this is the third nursing home for her and I find you have to be active and present to make sure your loved one is cared for, ha-ha, so I thought. I have been active, present, there daily, I live 2 miles from here and still I am fighting over the same issues. Nursing care issues, housekeeping issues, administrative issues. Vice president issues. Race and prejudice issues. First floor gets preferential treatment over the second floor as far as remodeling issues! Hiring workers who steal from the resident issues, and the list goes on and on. Yes and I have my mother here because its convenient and all nursing homes are the same, you just have to show up! And don't bother calling the State they all work together and cover each other's backs. Who stands up for the residents? And somebody please tell me how did they get a 5 star rating, 5 star award of excellence when my mother has a peg tube site that looks like an upside down mushroom? That sounds like neglect. But don't call the State done that many times, got no where, but did get excuses. Basically fed up. And maybe if you paid your CNA's more hourly, they would be more pleasant.

My mother has been a patient there since June of 2011. The head nurse that works week-ends is rude. We as the family members had to call the ambulance beause my mother was in so much pain (constipated for days) and they did nothing to help her. That head nurse was arguing with me because she didn't want to do the paper work (too much paper work to send the patients out. The same nurse got into my mothers face & yelled at her for letting other patients out into the yard. My mother said she did not let any one out & had witnesses who backed my mother up... She rude. My mother who is a stroke victim fell in the bathroom & the aid belamed the accident on my mother and told her get up. She can't walk how is it my mothers fault when she can't walk on her own??
In July when it was so stinking HOT with the humidity being so high 2 patients walked out the door ftom the dining room and the alarm sounded no one came to there recued. If it wasn't for me smoking a cigarette what wound have happened to those 2 women being left in the heat? I see a lot and I'm not happy with the service. The therapy is great ...
