Do not put anyone you care about in this place! I personally found the administrator to be unfeeling and arrogant. The care my mentally challenged sister was provided was unacceptable. Thankfully, she was only there for about 6 wks but it was clear the administrator felt she was a financial liability. He point blank told me she cost him between $30-$40 a day more than a private patient. He was responsible for getting her to the University of Iowa hospitals to monitor her septis/MRSA but stalled getting her there in the hopes he could avoid the expense - even if it was at the expense of her health. In addition, she was not helped to the bathroom in a timely manner on several occasions and wet the bed which was extremely stressful for her. Twice they left sit on the toilet for almost 2 hours despite her calls for help. The list goes on and on. My only hope is that he ends up a patient there himself one day. This place has earned a bad reputation for good reasons. I had to choose a one star rating only because it would not allow "0" stars.
