I have been a patient of Dr. Wesley E. Pope at Tri City Family Medical clinic since those clinic doors opened. As far as Dr Pope goes he is a good Dr. However his office employee's and staff are another issue. I realize that we are all human and all of us make mistakes. Even Doctors! I have been diagnosed by Dr Pope with several severe health problems....(Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, PVD, etc) there is alot more I don't wish to list. Many times over the years there have been mistakes made with my prescriptions - not sure if it is Dr. Popes mistake or his staff. Numerous times I have been tested for things such as Bone Density Tests and the test results are not shared/communicated with me in a timely manner. One time I waited over 6 months to get a result from a test! I have verbaly complained to Dr. Pope face to face about the problems I encounter with his staff, prescritopn errors, communication mess -ups, etc. Dr. Pope has yet to change these problems in his office. Not sure why! Many times I have been told by Dr. Pope himself that if I need to see him, for me to call and I could get in that very day to see him. Yet when I need to see him his office staff tells me that I have to wait like everyone else 3 weeks or more to get an appointment. Often when I do get to see Dr. Pope I feel treated like cattle, herded in and out as fast as possible. So he can see other patients. At this very time I am seriously considering looking for another Doctor...the problem is are there any good Doctors out there anymore!?!?

I have been a patient of Dr pope's at Tri City Medical Clinic for the past 2 years. I am on a long term pain management contract due to severse back problems.

Today I arrived at Tri-City Medical Clinic for my appointment this morning and was told I would not be seen due to the fact that my insurance co, Aetna insurance no longer has Dr Pope as a provider. I did not receive any phone calls from the office to let me know I didn't need to keep my appointment. I called Monday to see what time my appointment was, I was told 10:30am, never being told that I would not be seen. I arrived this morning and was dropped like a hot potato, left out on a limb with no help at all from the doctor or staff. Where is the professionalism in this???

I asked the girl at the desk “ what should I do, what doctor should I go to?” I was told “ that's up to you, contact your insurance company”. I ask” what about my prescription?” I was told they wouldn't be covered by my insurance so no need for me to get any prescriptions.

Seeing that I was almost out of one of my medications I immediately called the pharmacist to ask what would happen if I ran out. I was informed that I would go through withdrawals. I called you office several days ago to have it refilled but my pharmacy never heard back from you. The pharmacy told me that with or without insurance the prescription was only $4.00 and since it's not a scheduled drug that you, Dr pope, should be able to go ahead and call it in. I again called your office and told them this. Your office assured me that it would be faxed in today and if there was any problems they would call me. I didn't get a call from your office so late this evening I called the pharmacy who still hasn't heard from you.

After leaving your office I called around to find another pain management doctor. I was told that since I have a pain management contract with you, I can not change doctor,s that you MUST refer me to another doctor. I was told that when a pain management doctor isn't going to see a patient any longer that they refer the patient to another doctor and give them at least a 30 day supply of their pain medication. I have found that in takes 30 to 60 days to get into another doctor AFTER my current doctor refers me. I had to find this all out from other doctors. YOU, my doctor, refused to give any information or a referral. Obviously you aren't in this profession to help people. That was very apparent today. I was left without a doctor, no fault of my own, and with the possibility of going through withdrawals thanks to you, my doctor.

To say the least, my day was very stressful thanks to TRI-City Medical clinic and Dr Pope in Newcastle, OK
