I had rhinoplasty about 4 years ago by Dr. Murphy. After about a year, I had noticed my nose drooping. I went back to him and he agreed that he did not take enough off, and offered another $5K procedure... I went to a B.H. plastic surgeon for a second opinion and who eventually performed a corrective plastic surgery. Upon his procedure, he "accidentally" discovered a neoprene-like substance on the bone of my nose that was NOT disclosed in the op report (MAJOR NO NO in the medical field to not disclose in an op report!), and unfortunately tore the skin on my nose that he had to stitch in addition to performing the corrective surgery. Now, it is completely clear that there is an almost 'bandage' type of matter on my nose that is visible to the naked eye. Not once did Dr. Murphy inform me that he was going to put this piece in, or mention it after the fact in my follow-up visits. Had this information been disclosed in the op report or to me personally, I would never have experienced the tear in my skin that I did. Why am I waiting so long to voice my complaint? My corrective surgeon said that it would be at the very minimum 2 years before he could do anything to correct it if it became any worse at that point. Well, it has. It is so obvious it is ridiculous. You can clearly see a foreign object on the bone of my nose. I am considering legal action. Horrible experience! Elizabeth Taylor-Storey
