Worst dental office you will ever go to. The prey on the poor and use government funding to rip people off. I went in for checkup and was told I needed three root canals. I was sceptical because of no symptoms. Three years later I went to a dentist in Wadena and received none. STAY AWAY. Their Novocaine is watered down or completely fake. I felt I needed to be checked for diseases afterward because of the gross conditions and antique equipment. The foreign dentists berated their young assistants for not being as smart as them. I needed an extraction desperately an was made to wait for two weeks. I was horrified after leaving this place. All positive reviews on this site are fake. Read them and see what I mean. Who cares about a bathroom at a dentist.

I have been to the Smile Center both in Deerwood and the one in Big Lake. Because of our state funded dental coverage, we have to travel 1hr and 30 minutes to get to the Smile Center and it is the only dentist that takes new patients with Minnesota Care.

Aside from the drive, I can say that I like the Deerwood clinic better than the Big Lake one. The people are more friendly, it is way less busy and that really helped us feel more secure. Plus, the dentist was far more professional than the one I encountered at Big Lake.

My husband HATES dental work, but he was impress by them and was comfortable.

The only downfall is that the waiting area needs to be updated. The chairs are old and the arm rests are all beat up. Otherwise, the equipment, floors, bathrooms, ect were clean.

They took the time to apply topical pain killers before sticking you with a needle, and I really liked that. My son was seen by a dentist in Staple that I will NEVER go to again. My son was very upset about visiting him and was scared of the dentist because of him.

The Deerwood dentists helped my son get over his fears and get his cavities taken care of. I very much appreciate that. :)

The Smile Center in Deerwood is a rip-off. I have never had a cavity in my life. I recently moved to the area and tried them as my first option of dentists in the area. I was told I had 3 cavities that needed fillings and my son had 2 that needed fillings. I got a second opinion from another area dentist and I have NO CAVITIES and my son has one! They blatantly lied to me to make more money off of me. I will NEVER go back. It also smelled like cigarette smoke in the waiting area and the front office staff were rude and had a very unprofessional appearance. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Everyone in my community knows that they are the absolute best in the field. The restrooms at this office were spotless. It smelled amazing in there and looked immaculate. It's always bugged me when other dentists' I've visited didn't take the time to really examine my teeth. I didn't encounter that here at all, they made an extra effort to inspect my teeth very thoroughly. They keep the restrooms well-stocked here, and not just with the basics. There is mouthwash, lotion and other amenities. You can tell they want their clients to be as comfortable as possible.
