Top notch drs, they cannot cure everything but they will do more tests and try more meds than any other place, including Mayo Clinic. My second experience here has been discouraging but that is due to my specific medical issues. This may be just the right place for you. Never settle on being told you will have to live in pain forever. Fight for yourself. Believe in yourself. You are your own best advocate. ASK QUESTIONS at rounds, make a list and bring it with you. If you come in with an open mind, they can help a good number of people. me. Maybe not so much. But you, maybe. And is not that enough of a reason to try. I am being released soon with not a lot of hope on the horizon, but that does not mean it's time to give up. Believe in yourself and give MHNI a shot. Ask to be treated by Dr. Tariq or Dr.Saper. avoid Dr.Weintraub if you are a woman, in my opinion. Not a lot of empathy there and a bit condescending. Most nurses are FABULOUS. get as much sleep as you can before entering the program though as you will not get much solid sleep here. 445am ekg's and blood draws are the norm.

More information on what to expect with spinal punctures would be beneficial as this served to be a major stressor for myself. Also, knowing that steroids can cause extreme emotions would be good to know as i found myself crying for no real apparent reason. Some really great and helpful nurses. Very patient staff, well cared for. Could also be nice to find a way to help keep veins pumped up after multiple does of DHE. Finding suitable veins seemed hard at times. Dr. Saper seemed to have a very real interest in helping me find relief and working alongside Dr. Tariq, I did feel a bit of hope that I could find some sort of tolerable point in my pain once again. I hope that at the end of this process I will be able to resume some sort of normalcy to my life again.

The doctors and all staff treated me very well. They helped me and answered every question i had no matter how many times that i asked the same question.

Excellent communicator, liked his thoughtfulness, would have liked more drug trials to select from more options. I understand that time was limited and choices need to be made.

Great experience working with Dr. Saper. He is thorough with his patients and willing to answer any question you may have. MHNI support staff, however, has not been as helpful.
