After 21 years i finally found a place where i can comment on Richard Friefeld. He used to work w/ Dr. Prats @ Palmetto General Hosp in Hialeah, Fl in 1990. I was 23 years old, I developed pre-clampsia and was on my 32nd week, This was my first pregnancy. Dr. Prats was my primary MD, he went on a Thanksgiving vacation and left me in the care of Mr. Friefeld. My blood pressure was 160/110. Mr. Friefeld did not feel it was necessary to have me come in to the hospital, instead told me to wait until my primary came back on Monday (this was Friday). I even told him that my primary said that if my blood pressure did not improve, he would double up on my meds, did he want me to double up? he said "no, just wait for him on Monday". He felt i was fine because i had just had a stress test, and my blood pressure was 130's/80's. I told him that the stress test was done earlier and it was not late at night. again he said "wait for Prats on Monday". I was ignorant and I trusted him....On Monday, when i came in to see Dr. Prats, my baby girl had died..... Thanks a lot Mr. Friefeld... I hope you sleep well at nights, cause after 21 years, i still feel the pain. My worse regret was not sueing or reporting your negligence. I pray for the rest of his patients. I hope this helps someone else.
